It pours, man it pours!

Today, February 27, we competed in a dog show in Rancho Cordova.   The weather reports predicted the night rains would weaken and cease during the morning, so most of us dog exhibitors were unpleasantly surprised when the rain did not let up.  Instead, it poured buckets, pooling on the lawn until the grass gave up and was lost in the mud.

Pit bulls and other large breeds splashed unconcernedly through the water.  The rat terriers were not so happy.  Many stacked on 3 legs, holding one foreleg up pitifully in the established "Lassie" pose, looking at their handlers questioningly.

Seven month old "Billie Jean" (aka: ShowOff Farm's Love is Kind), made her dog show debut today.  She failed to catch the eye of the judge in show 1, but by show 2, began to get the judge's attention.  Billie Jean earned the first leg towards her championship today when she was awarded "Best Female".
