At a dog show this last weekend this darling little girl spent lots of time with me and little Pilgrim pup.  We had some fun together, but high temperatures and boredom eventually began to have a negative effect on some of our moods.

As we waited at the showring gate to enter our class, the child began restlessly whirling a bandana in the air like a cloth propeller, closer and closer to worried Pilgrim's face.  I explained to my young human friend that I have raised and loved my Pilgrim pup from his birth, that he has always had the best experiences I can provide, has NEVER been teased, and so does not understand it.

The little girl then looked up at me with disbelief in her eyes, then a spark of anger as she realized the situation.  Poor thing, she was, after all, stuck at a dog show in tremendous heat in the middle of a park with much more interesting attractions.  Her brows knitted in her small, flushed face and she slowly and clearly deadpanned, with all the seriousness she could muster, "He needs to learn teased!"
